Thomas W. Dillon
Mr. Dillon represents plaintiffs in legal malpractice, conflict of interest and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He and Mr. Konicek have obtained settlements in the six- and seven-figure ranges for clients victimized by attorney or law firm conflicts of interest and breaches of fiduciary duty. In addition, Mr. Dillon has been involved in numerous legal malpractice trials on behalf of lawyers and law firms, presenting trial testimony, developing strategies, arguing motions to exclude evidence, and handling pre- and post-trial proceedings. He has written articles on legal malpractice and been a presenter at seminars on topics involving legal malpractice.
Mr. Dillon represents plaintiffs in medical malpractice and nursing home abuse litigation, including claims involving violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act. He also represents plaintiffs in product liability lawsuits involving motor vehicles, recently obtaining settlements in claims involving defective airbag systems, one in a foreign car and one in a domestic automobile.
Mr. Dillon has handled dozens of appeals in Illinois and other states, including Wisconsin, California, Georgia, and Indiana . He is licensed in Illinois and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Central Division of Illinois. He has been admitted on a case-by-case basis to handle matters in California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina and Wisconsin .
Mr. Dillon attended Carroll College and Northern Illinois University , where he obtained his B.A. in Public Law, attended graduate school, and earned his Juris Doctorate degree (1991). He was admitted to practice law in Illinois on November 7, 1991.
